What is TAC?

The Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is a group of teenage volunteers who meet every other month. The group is intended to create a better link between the Library and teenagers in the community.

What do Council Members do?

  • Discuss Library collections, programmes, services, contests and displays and will contribute ideas for their ongoing development
  • Advise Library Staff on current trends and interests as well as the overall needs of teenagers in the community
  • Promote Library programmes and services to peers in the community
  • Read and review materials from the Young Adult collection for inclusion in Library booklists

Meeting Details...

The Teen Advisory Council meets at the Central Library on the second Thursday of every other month from 7:00-8:30 pm. Snacks are provided! Upcoming meeting dates for 2020 are:

  • February 13
  • April 9
  • June 11
  • August 13
  • October 8
  • December 10

How to Become a Member...

To become a Council member, you must be a resident of St. Catharines between the ages of 12 and 18 with a valid Library card. Membership applications are reviewed by the TAC Co-ordinators. Please complete the application form and return the completed form  to any Branch of the St. Catharines Public Library Branch or mail to:
