Great War Centenary - August to December 1914 - The Myths, the Legends and the Controversies

Thursday, November 23, 2017
7:00PM -

Where: Central Library, Mills Room
Contact: 905-688-6103 ext 211

In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the First World War, the St. Catharines Public Library will continue to host a variety of exciting historical programs related to the conflict. Please join us for a series of fascinating talks as we commemorate the achievements and sacrifices of Canadians in the Great War.

The events that occurred during these 5 months have been overshadowed by the battles of 1916, 1917 and 1918. Jim Doherty, president of the Niagara Military Museum, will take a fresh look at the first 5 months of World War One and their effect on the remaining 47 months. He will also look at the recent “rethink” of the start of the war and the Blame Game.
