The 6th-Century BCE Shipwreck at Pabuç Burnu, Turkey

In the first half of the sixth century B.C.E., a ship sank off the Turkish coast, near the modern town of Bodrum. Excavated in 2002 and 2003 by the Institute of Nautical Archaeology, the vessel's preserved cargo and hull construction provide glimpses into systems of local transportation and trade in the Archaic Period (ca. 800-500 B.C.E.). Join Dr. Elizabeth Greene, Assistant Professor of Classics at Brock University, for a fascinating talk about her ongoing research into this ancient shipwreck.
